Marinship Development Interest served as the civil construction subcontractor for the Caltrain Tunnel Repairs project.  Marinship provided track geometry survey, ballast removal and disposal, ballast supply and placement, asphalt grinding, hot mix asphalt placement and compaction, track lining and surfacing and as-built track survey. Because the work was performed on an active track the work had to be performed at night after hours when trains were not in service. The safety requirements were very strict with all employees required to be CalTrain Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) trained in order to work on this project.  Our scope of work was performed mainly by our locally recruited labor crews. These crews have gone on to perform numerous other critical projects for Marinship.
