Marinship Development Interest was selected as the shoring subcontractor, in collaboration with Biggie Crane and Rigging Co, for the Pier 70 Biggie Building 12 building lift project. Our teams successfully completed this project on time and within budget, by leveraging the following expert capabilities:
Marinship was proud to contribute to this unique renovation project to preserve San Francisco’s history. Our client sought to lift the two-story building, six inches at a time, until an elevation of 11 feet was achieved, in anticipation of sea levels continually rising. The building is set to house a market hall, production and office space and create greater connectivity and economic opportunity among the communities living and working near this historic 120,000 square feet, 60’ tall, steel framed warehouse. This initiative which expanded the overall gross square footage of Building 12 increased the size of the facility to 230,000 sq. ft. by the end of the project.
